Brief
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Education Business Links required both an IT solution in order to manage thousands of students waiting to go on work experience each year and help solve the problems with communication between all parties.

Solution
Our most ambitious project to date has been adopted by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Education Business Links. The powerful online work related learning database offers individual logins to all local schools who can manage groups of pupils in their progress of finding Work Experience. Each pupil can also log into the site and use the powerful search system to look for companies they are interested in.

These companies are booked, approved by teachers and the appropriate company is contacted by the system. Each company has individual log in rights to manage their placements and can approve or deny students requests.

New companies are then highlighted to roaming field officers by bespoke software and can manage their work load as each placement is approved, saving time and avoiding ‘last minute’ approvals by schools.

Coupled with a dynamic reporting system, state-of-the-art security procedures and an intuitive interface, the WRL Database offers a simple solution to a complex problem.

The interface was generated around the companies all new corporate identity, designed in house by our graphic design team. The tight integration between the two departments has also helped produce new literature such as report books that directly relate to the IT software.
